Tips for first-timer cooking through a cookbook

ellennoble | May 18, 201606:03 PM     4

I am looking to cook through the cookbook "The FeedZone CookBook" (A great, healthy cookbook written for athletes!). I have never cooked through a cookbook and figured it would be a great time to try. I would like have a method to my madness, and preferably choose recipes that have some sort of similarities -- so I'm not buying chicken, steak, fish and sausage every week, and also trying not to buy 45 different vegetables. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to, methodically, cook their way through a cookbook? Any organization strategies or other pieces of advice? Thanks in advance!
