My parents (around age 60) are visiting NYC for the first time this December.
They will be staying in the Essex House on Central Park South, for the week up to Christmas Day, taking in all the classic NYC sites.
I am hoping to be able to give them some choice insider info and am looking for recommendations in the following areas:
Authentic NYC institutions (Pizza, Diner, Deli, Italian, Steakhouses etc)
Good places to eat near big attractions, eg the Met, Empire State, Lower Central Park, Times Square, Chinatown, Little Italy, Brooklyn.
Breakfast options near the Essex House
Grand Central: Metrazur, Michaels Steakhouse, Oyster Bar?
Any suggestions in the low to mid-range category gratefully received. Also, any ones to avoid.
