I was in the city today near Civic Center and, since I had never been to an Ike's sandwich shop, went to the one at 901 Polk. I had the Joe Montana sandwich ($13) - halal chicken, bacon, Asian sesame dressing, avocado, havarti. It was large, but my problem with it was that it seemed all "smooshed" together and I couldn't have told you what even one of the ingredients was (except for avocado, which I saw chunks of). Chicken? Couldn't really tell. Bacon? Couldn't tell. Harvarti? Couldn't tell. If I hadn't seen the ingredients on the menu, I would have had no idea what I was eating. Did it taste good? OK-good and I finished it, but I won't be going back again.
