First time to Bo's Barbecue in Lafayette

Bo's has been written about many times here, but today was my first time there (with a barbecue-loving friend). I'd say it's all it's supposed to be, the real thing, real wood-fire slow-cooked barbecue cooked by someone who knows how to do it. They only had brisket and ribs, so that's what we had (combo plates). You can say that you'd prefer the brisket more moist (fattier) or whatever, but that's preference, not quality. It's right up there with the best. The sweet potato slice(?) was a very nice touch. Didn't much care for the mayo-type potato salad. Thought the sauce was a bit too sweet, my friend thought it had too much cumin. But again, quibbles and preferences. Oh, I've read here that they use way too much salt on/in their meat. We didn't think so at all today. I've also read about the long waits for food. Today at 12:30 pm on a Friday the place was about 1/3 full, we walked right up to the ordering counter, sat down and were bought our food very quickly. It's a quite attractive-looking place and they have a selection of very good wines.
