Finally stopped by at Mixto this evening for a few drinks. The building, which formerly housed More Than Just Ice Cream is virtually unrecognizable except for the layout. No expense was spared in making the exposed brick walls and warm wood seem homey and inviting. The second floor is absolutely gorgeous and houses a larger bar than the downstairs. Faithful Drinking Companion and myself shared a couple of Mojitos and a few glasses of the house specialty Sangria. Both were delicious. The restaurant is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 7 days a week. Will definitely be back to try out the food, but the menu is virtually identical to Tierra Colombiana and the prices are equally reasonable. Sandwiches in the $5-6 range, entrees are $12-30 (for a paella for two) and all are served with the Holy Trinity of Latino carbohydrates - rice, beans and plantains. Since the ownership is the same, I can only assume that the food will be prepared using the same recipes. Will report back as soon as I get there for a meal!
