A new thread on beef places, started after today's meal at the Boeuf Maillot.

While there is a very good and informative thread, despite a misleading title, started in 2013 (, it is long and rather than add to it, I thought it was worthwhile to start a new one in 2016, especially given the meal another CH-er and I had today at Le Boeuf Maillot (a nice pun by the way; say it several times and you'll get it). The beef was first class, the potatoes wonderful, the sauces complementary and the St. Nectaire as soft and flavorful as one could want. Bill for 2, with a bottle and glass of Cotes du Rhone Villages, good bread and Illy coffee was 86 E for 2. Details and pix at
Let's stipulate as the lawyers say that Desnoyer, Severo, Christophe Philippe, the Comptoirs de Canailles and the Carbon Rouge as well as the Maison de l'Aubrac have already received the CH stamp of endorsement.
