Can I thicken caramel sauce?

In a fearful moment, I undercooked and didn't let my sugar get dark enough and to a deep amber. As a result my caramel sauce is tasty, but pale and thinner than I want. Will slowly reducing it thicken it or is the damage done? any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
