Simple as it is, the idea of putting out all serving dishes etc with post-it notes labeling them has been a big help to me. It means, of course, that I'm ready for everything but also that everything will make it to the table. More than once I've forgotten to serve something only to discover it much too late. This eliminates that problem.
Also, using the food storage bag to separate fat and liquid for soup and gravy making has come in handy more that once.
There are so many more, but these came to mind today and I thought I'd say so.
