Thaid Up at Jitlada

Three of us lunched at Jitlada Thai Cuisine this afternoon: 1826 Buchanan Street between Sutter and Bush in JapanTown. The service was gracious; the flavors were bright and unique.
Starters were the Papaya Wedges, deep fried in a rice flour coconut batter, served with a sweet and sour sauce—absolutely no grease, crisp and hot; then, the Curry Puffs, fried pastry triangles of potato, chicken, shrimp, onion and peanuts with a cucumber salad. We shared the Paradise Pasta with tofu, vegetables, and spinach noodles mixed with the house dressing, savored every bite and still brought leftovers home for a snack. The Vegetable Parade was a platter of crisp seasonal veggies in a garlic bean sauce. With Thai Iced Tea, and Black Sticky Rice and Mango for dessert, the total bill plus tip was $46.
We have to return to order the Khao Soi, the Evil Princess, and the Crying Tiger.
