best thai

Although there are thai restaurants I like to frequent (neisha, tara, sala, benjarong, dusit) I still do not have the feeling that I am eating authentic cuisine. It seems to lack the complexity that is apparent in recipes. The food often seems to be too sweet. Are there any thai restaurants out there that have not been americanized. Are there any that have "secret" thai menus as discussed on the not about food board?
