Tex-Mex potential: Taco Baja @ 7 Corners

Went the other night on advice of sis-in-law. Wasn't disappointed. Very good - Tex-Mex flavor. The fajita taco, rice and refried beans could have been in any restaurant in San Antonio. They also served Tecate in a can, which is always fun. My husband had the Tacos Al Carbon, and he was raving about it. Only disappointment, the salsa was terrible. Will probably do take-out next time so that we can use my homemade salsa.

I am more impressed with this place and its prices than the Austin Grill (olives and capers in pico de gallo?) or Rio Grande Cafe (hello, spice?). But if you are wanting authentic-tasting Austin/San Antonio flavor, it is a thumbs up.

NOTES: This is a hole-in-the-wall in a strip center, not the cleanest or most reputable looking joint. Also, when trying to ask waitress questions about food or accompanying sides, it was hard for her to translate.
