Tex Chick - Great Puerto Rican food in Houston

I don't know if any other Chowhounds have eaten at Tex Chick, but if you haven't, you should.

This is a tiny little Puerto Rican restaurant in the Montrose (on Fairview) that seems to be run/owned by an older couple. When I say tiny... I think the whole place has about five tables. The kitchen and dining area is all in one big room.

The food is absolutely fantastic! Overall, I would say the food is fairly similar to cuban (makes sense), but there is one dish at Tex Chick that makes it worth the drive from anywhere in Houston - Mofongo! This is basically a mash of plantains, garlic and some other ingredients mashed into a form. Big, big winner in my book. This place is fun, small, great and cheap.

Who else has eaten here? What do you think?
