Went Friday night around 6-ish in the Time Warner center. Nice space/ambience and the service was very good. However, the food was quite disappointing. My wife and I started with 2 or their small plate antipasti dishes - a beets salad and a plate of salumi rossi with chargrilled bread as an accompaniment. Both were ok. Nothing special. The portion size with the beets could have been a little bigger as you do not get much but it was reasonably tasty.
But the mains were a real horror show. We ordered entree-sized pasta dishes - my wife opting for a seafood spaghetti dish while I went for the braised rabbit pappardelle. Both dishes were delivered promptly but OMG...the amount of salt in each dish was ridiculous. After one helping of the pappardelle I could feel my blood pressure rising instantly...ditto my wife's spaghetti...I don't know who they had working the end-of-the-line but they sure as hell are not tasting what is getting shoved out. We both could not take more than 2 bites of each dish. Waaaayyy over-seasoned. So the waiter was summoned and informed. He apologized and asked if we'd like something different or the same dish remade. My wife went for something different, the gnocchi. I made the mistake of asking for another attempt at the pappardelle. We stressed that we hoped the chef would check the seasoning next time round...but what do you know...another pappardelle appeared 10 mins later and was exactly the same as the first abomination (I wondered if it was the same plating from the first time around just touched-up). Like half-a-ton of salt dumped into the sauce. Awful. My wife's Gnocchi fared better but was underwhelming. I sent the rabbit back immediately and asked for the check...without the pappardelle added. Check duly arrived, another apology given and we left. Probably won't return. Seasoning errors this bad are very kitchen 101...and there are too many other good italian options in the vicinity.
