Wandered over to Tequila's last evening. Since we had a break in the weather we were looking forward to sidewalk margaritas.

We arrived around 7:00 and there was plenty of outside seating available. As soon as we got settled a waiter came over and took our drink orders. The waiter really pushed the house brand of tequila for the margaritas.

Unfortunately the pitcher of margaritas turned out to be more like sweetened lime juice with less than a hint of alcohol. We are not big drinkers but we would like to have a bit of tequila in our margaritas. We actually had to order side shots of tequila and pour them into our drinks.

For apps we had the nachos and queso fundido. Both were pretty good but both were lacking in some way. The nacho toppings were excellent but the chips were very thick and not really tasty on their own (we yearn for the 12th street cantina chips). The queso with chorizo had a sprinkling of chorizo on the top but it really had no zip... very mild.

For entrees I had the steak stuffed with mushrooms and herbs with a cilantro/avocado topping. Really excellent.
Our friends had the other steak "el grito". It was fine but lacked the wow factor of the other dish.

All in all I would recommend Lolita with it's byo tequila for the margarita set ups. The ambience is not comperable but the food was excellent if you like a lot of heat.
