Teaberry’s, considered by many to be the #1 tea room in the state, turns out to be a great place for lunch too. We went for lunch (first time for me) earlier this week and I shall most definitely return.
Lunch choices consist of soups, salads, sandwiches and one or two quiches, and from what I could see everything is very fresh and is made to order. We opted for sandwiches, all of which are served with a small side salad (potato salad on the day we were there) and crudités with ranch dressing). I had a delectable sandwich of roast turkey, avocado, bacon, ranch dressing, field greens and tomato. To drink, we had a very smoky Russian tea, the exact name of which escapes me. If I’m not mistaken, Teaberry’s has over fifty different tea selections.
There is a wide variety of desserts with amusing names such as Buckingham Brownie and the Duke’s Cheesecake. We shared the Yorkshire Apple Torte, which was good but not particularly memorable.
Several things that you should know before going... First, this place is not inexpensive but the quality of the food, the service and the ambience more than make up for the somewhat high prices ($11.50 for sandwiches). Second, even if you go on a weekday, it’s a good idea to make a reservation. This place is VERY popular. And finally, Teaberry’s is in an old Victorian style house and old houses can be drafty. On a cold day, avoid tables near the windows!
