Our first time in CW and thought it might be fun to experience the Tavern dining experience. Made reservatons at Shields Tavern but are wondering now if it's worth the bucks. (Fairly pricey at $26.+) Is the food 1/2 decent or should we skip it?
Thanks to its firm consistency, precooked polenta (usually sold in tube form) can be seared, toasted, or even layered and baked like a lasagna. We keep the slices on the thick side so they have a creamy texture when heated through.
