I tried a pickle from one of those big vats/jars at yin wall city that i really liked yesterday.
It was at Yin Wall City, the place next door to may flower foods in the chinatown mall.
"spicy pickled mango", not dissimilar from indian pickles but a lot brighter taste (ripe vs. green mangos) and not in a heavily spiced oil preservative. It was in the first row of jars by the window, 2nd westernmost jar. If you like indian pickles at all, you may want to try it out, which is pretty easy at Yin Wall - half the fun in there (the other half being looking at the amazing prices for dried abalone)
