Tasty savoury oatmeal breakfast today

Please indulge yet another post about oatmeal (I think oatmeal needs its own board!) but I wanted to share my tasty breakfast recipe from this morning. Cooked up some steel-cut oats - I like to boil them until they're 2/3's done, then cover and finish off-heat. I then added butter, salt and pepper (like many of the posters below had suggested), along with some chopped scallions, toasted sesame seeds and a quick grating of parmesan. It was sort of congee-like and it could have easily taken some leftover cooked pork or chicken if I was up for that (or had any leftovers). I enjoyed it with a cup of green tea. All in all, a very yummy, healthy (not too much butter), satisfying and "clean" feeling breakfast.
