Tasty and Inexpensive Banh Mi Sandwiches in Davis

Cathy | Jul 17, 200512:44 AM

Hi Fellow Chowhounds,

I found a great little Vietnamese cafe in Davis on G Street called Sunrise Restaurant, 229 G Street
(near Woodstock's and Fuji), (530)753-5750.

I've only tried a couple of food items, but the chicken Banh Mi sandwich (only $2.25!) is worth the trip alone. Think toasted French bread filled with chicken meat, cucumbers, cilantro, carrots, onion, and jalapeno with a touch of mayo. I don't know how they make a profit off it, but I'm not complaining.

The salty plum soda and tapioca drinks are great, too.

What makes it even nicer is that the owners, were born in Vietnam, are extremely friendly and helpful.

You can eat there or have your food prepared to go.
