Hi, It's my mom's 65th birthday in a couple of weeks and to celebrate, my immediate family would like to take her to an exemplary, unique restaurant in New York City (Manhattan).
The problem is I have a lot of food sensitivities: I'm gluten free and can't have onion or tofu. My mom is allergic to shellfish and eggplant.
A place that serves sushi/sashimi seems like the safest bet, but my parents go out for sushi/sashimi almost weekly. I was thinking perhaps of a japanese tasting menu?
Can you think of anything more exciting and special that would have options for me? I would be ok with my family all getting the tasting menu and I ordering a la carte. It does not have to be Japanese.
Looking to spend under $100 per person.
I've never done a tasting menu before so have no idea how to choose!
