Tasting Kitchen

Dinner last night w spouse. First time high expectations.
The good: the drinks, the service, the Manila clams in broth, the spiral pasta with mushrooms, olives greens.
The bad: the Jerusalem artichoke amuse bouche, the baby artichoke fried thing. Both were sooo oily, as if they were fried and then basted with more oil. Very unappealing.
The ugly: the porcelina, three cuts of pig; the loin which was both tough and flavorless, a rib which was flavored mildly but unpleasantly and the belly which was disgustingly sweet and burnt but not crisp. Last and deserving of the other porcelina, a panna cotta with cantaloupe granita that tasted of fish. It took four ginger chewy candies when we got home to lose that haunting fishy taste. I really wanted to like this place. Hopefully, an atypical meal.
