Taste tests-Jones Soda & Lindt and Reese's peanut butter candies

We had a fun time in my office today. The day after a holiday and with our newspaper's deadline looming, we decided to have fun conducting some taste tests.

First up was the Jones Holiday Pak soda which I bought before Thanksgiving and gave to my co-workers as a Christmas gift. Surprisingly, they are all still speaking to me.

I will not recount what others have written except to say SHAME SHAME SHAME on you Jones for packaging putrid and vile substances. One of my cohorts--a sports writer--was actually looking forward to sampling the brussels sprout soda but it was awful and tasted nothing like the vegetable. "Spoiled yogurt" is how it was described. The others weren't any better...Herb Stuffing was repulsive....Cranberry was palatable but had absolutely NO cranberry flavor. Jones Soda=RIPOFF!

Our next tasting was more pleasant. We sampled some Christmas gifts--Lindt peanut butter truffles, Reese's peanut butter cups against my homemade chocolate peanut butter bars.

The bars came out a clear winner for most flavor.. (peanut butter, butter, confectioner's sugar, graham cracker crumbs, covered in chocolate), Lindt truffles were second, very creamy, and the Reese's seemed nearly flavorless after sampling the first two.

Yes, we did have a lot of better things to do.
