Wanted to make some comments about the second chowhound outing in Houston. First off we had a great time and the food was very good. Some of the highlights of the dinner were the sardines, Piri-piri chicken (my favorite), roasted pork, and the feijoda. What I took from the food is that Taste of Portugal is a very homey restaurant with good soul food. Would make a special trip on a regular night to eat there? Probably not, but if I lived closer to the place I'm sure I would eat there pretty regularly.
The piri-piri sauce would be great on just about everything.

For the next outing we can go to El Hidalguense o Long point. We wont have the multiple dishes like the last 2 outings. What we will have is some great Cabrito. They do have other things but that is the dish to get.I think something like Otilla's would be ifficult to do because most of the entrees are not easily shared. Either way we can start thinking about it a little more in the next month or so.
