Taste of the Caribbean Capitol Heights

wineloverdc | Mar 1, 201906:57 AM

A trip to the electrical supply store brought me to a very unfamiliar part of PG County at lunchtime. There were several hole in the wall options and I randomly chose Taste of the Caribbean. This is a long narrow space with a steam table at one end and several refrigerators and freezers. There were two very firendly people behind the table and I put together a combo of goat stew with rice, & greens The goat was typically bony, fall off the bone tender, well spiced and rich as all get out. The rice was rich with a bit of oil and vegetables. The greens were well cooked: soft and tender but a step short of mushy.

This is not food worth a drive across town but if you are in the area, you can enjoy a homestyle lunch made and served with love rather than another dispiriting Five Guys or a plate of Fried Chicken or a sub from WAWA.
