I just finished reading John and Karen Hess's book "The Taste of America". Who else has read it and what did you think? I enjoyed how opinionated and forceful they are. They are also very witty. Can anyone recommend some follow-up books? Can anyone direct me to some recent interviews with them that include their opinions on the current state of culinary affairs? I know they just re-issued the book with a new introduction which I haven't read because I read a used copy of an original edition.
