Even though I love this site, I don't cook. (regardless, I do get a vicarious thrill reading about you talented people who make elaborate things for a Tuesday dinner)
My extended family knows I don't/can't cook, and so they (mercifully) tasked me with bringing a shrimp appetizer for Thanksgiving.
Of course, I've bought the supermarket ring of shrimp before, but I'd like to do a step up from that. (see photos)
Where should I buy the shrimp from, and what EXACTLY do I buy? There seem to be a dozen kind of shrimp. Follow up question...12 adults, 9 kids, how much shrimp would you buy?
Money is less of a big deal, than hassle. I don't want to do any actual prep beyond a nice presentation of the shrimp. Don't make me boil or baste things. (is basting a word?) ;)
