Tara's in Port Jefferson

I'm sure it's been written about before, but I just had my first experience at Tara's, and the lobster special is truly an amazing deal -- soup (quite good), salad (adequate), fries (fine) and a 1-lb lobster (although mine was definitely more like a pound and a quarter) for $10.99. Just for kicks, I also ordered the $1 burger, just to see what it was like, and it was perfectly fine -- a ridiculous deal for a buck. Plus the service was super-friendly. The scene was *very* loud, but it was the first Sunday of the NFL season, so that's to be expected.

My 81-yr-old parents -- who do NOT typically hang out in bars like Tara's -- loved the food and the prices so much that they didn't even mind the loud racket.
