I am a big fan of the Mexican restaurants on 10th Avenue in Manhattan, but there's one problem for me. They all make their hot chocolate from a mix instead of using the solid blocks. I enjoyed a whopping bowl of sopa de mariscos in Del Valle the other day and wanted a chocolaté to brace myself for the long frigid walk back to 6th Ave. Sad to say, I cancelled my order as soon I found they used instant. Has anyone found a taqueria/downscale Mexican spot that serves the real deal in Manhattan or Queens?
