This underrated Sichuan dish made an appearance at my table when I visited Tao's fusion in Selden. No matter how you call this dish:
Suan Tang Fei Niu 酸汤肥牛 /
Beef with House Made Pickle in Duck Broth
Clear Noodles Fresh Mushrooms /
Beef in Sour Soup,
the dish is difficult for me to find elsewhere on Long Island.
Where I like to explore and, like when I first started to frequent Spicy Home Tasty and sit alone, by myself, in an empty dining room at peak lunch time, now there can be a wait for a table... Tao's was empty at lunch the day I visited and I sat alone in the empty dining room.
And, if you are in the Franklin Square area, visit Cheng Du please. As much as the quiet lunches were peaceful, it has gained more patrons thankfully, I'd hate to lose this very good restaurant.
