We visited Tantra recently during a trip to South Beach from New York. We're foodies who'll pay whatever it takes for an amazing meal, whether a great $10 for a great Chowhound meal or hundreds for an outrageous dinner for two.
Tantra was horrible -- awful service, rushed pace, completely unflavorable food (that you needed a microscope to find) from an unimaginative menu. Outrageously priced considering we had NO alcohol: Dinner for two was $192 PLUS tip. And other than the entrance and front area, the main dining room isn't even that nice looking. It's quite dated compared to more recently designed restaurants.
What in the world is giving Tantra its good reputation?
