Tamaqua BBQ

A while back someone posted about a roadside BBQ cart on 309 enroute to Tamaqua. I happened to be in Allentown yesterday (Saturday) and decided to drive the 30 miles to Tamaqua to check it out.

Got there about 4pm in the afternoon. Alas, they were closed, I'm assuming just for that day.

It looked promising. I'd like to return but my eating psyche is sufficiently fragile that I can't suffer two similar disappointments. Anyone know what days or hours they are open or at the hours just at the owner's whim? Maybe a phone number to call?

Managed to turn adversity into a good Pennsylvania Dutch meal. Kept driving into Tamaqua and had a bowl of pepperpot soup and a plate of smoked sausages, cabbage and noodles at the Tamaqua Diner. Also discovered a chili dog place (closed) and learned that Tamaqua was a hotbed of those rowdy's, the Molly McGuires.

Also drove back another way and passed Maggie's Kitchen and their packed parking lot on Rte 433. What's up wiht Maggie?
