Takohachi in Arlington - Report

Steve | Dec 4, 201807:28 PM     6

Located in the shopping strip at Glebe and Colombia Rd, Takohachi has found its audience: a nice crowd of mostly Japanese looked like they were enjoying their time here.

We got grilled sardines, grilled mackerel, panko crusted oysters, and a couple of pieces of sushi, Yellowtail and eel.

I feel safe in saying the grilled items here are the way to go. The mackerel was superb. The sardines good. The sardines came with a brown wasabi that was very potent. I saw a plate of grilled ribs pass by that looked very good.

The oysters had great flavor, but the crust was so damn thick. A mixed bag. The sushi was ok, not better. But the sushi is only a dollar per, so I wasn't expecting to be wowed.

Yeah, I'd go back to try more grilled items. They also have ramen.
