Takkatsu (to open in Arlington Heights)

Paul Tyksins | Feb 10, 2004 02:37 PM

Takkatsu was a bit of a cult favorite on this board when it operated in Hubbard Woods. It expertly served tonkatsu, or fried pork cutlet--a Japanese specialty.

Takkatsu closed its North Shore doors a month or two ago and has moved to a space in Arlington Heights (about a block from the Metra station). They rightly wanted to be closer to the Japanese ex-pat population.

It's just a matter of city permits at this point and the owners expect to open in early spring.

Nothing will be over $10 and they will only offer a limited number of maki, concentrating instead on their glorious tonkatsu.

For those of you in or near the northwest suburbs, you're in for a treat.
