Szechuan Hot Pot?

B H | Oct 3, 2004 07:09 PM

My girlfriend and I recently got back from a trip to Hong Kong, where we had several wonderful meals of Hot Pot. For those who have never tried it, it is similar to Shabu-Shabu - a pot full of boiling soup base, in which one dips meats, veggies, etc.

We've been trying to find this dish in New York, without any success! There were a few helpful hints on the web, notably the chowhound link attached to this post, but most seem to be out of date (the chowhound link is apparently from 1998!).

I've only found three potential restaurants, can you help me find more?

1) Wu Liang Ye in Murray Hill: They report they'll start serving hot pot again at the end of October. Seems to be the best bet.

2) Bingo Seafood in Chinatown: Phone number (212-941-7228) is disconnected. Are they still in business?

3) China Moon on 47th: They claim to no longer serve hot pot.

Any others?

Thanks very much,
B H
