As long as recent mention has been made regarding clandestine entries, has anyone eaten let alone entered SZATAS EUROPEAN RESTAURANT on South Archer just before Harlem? I espied the structure and its "Pull Rope to Enter" heavy wooden barred door and this, paired with the rather flamboyant sign featuring what appears to be an Eastern European pirate brandishing a sword and a shrine of sorts facing Ashland which pays homage to two young mens' early 1980's high school yearbook pictures, makes it a prime candidate for my boyfriend's Tuesday birthday dinner. When I tried to call (773/582-0300), though, I couldn't understand what language was being spoken and therefore apologized and promptly ended the call. If anyone has any information and/or first-hand accounts of this restaurant, it would be *very* interesting to hear of them. Thank you kindly!
