syrian apricot paste

i was wandering around my local supermarket and noticed a really large package of syrian apricot paste... it looks like a huge chunk of fruit leather from the outside. it really intrigues me. i've been googling it and have come up with a few ways middle easterners use this but.......does anyone have more ideas? does someone have a recipe for amardine cream? what other uses, besides eating the leather out of the package, does this have?
