Switching spices in a brownie recipe?

A few weeks ago I posted my favorite brownie recipe in response to a request for recipes (see link below). I'm thinking about making a batch of the brownies replacing the walnuts with almonds and replacing the cinnamon with cardamom. Does this sound good or insane? The recipe calls for 1 tbsp cinnamon. How much cardamom would you recommend (assuming you don't think the idea is insane)? 1 tbsp? or less?

Note: the reference at the end of the recipe to coconut "run" creme anglaise should read coconut "rum" creme anglaise.
