I am looking for a bread recipe similar to the Asphodel Inn recipe found on this thread-- http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/565837 -- but it begins with a starter and does not use Bisquick--just flour and sugar (and eggs, I think). I've scoured the internet to no avail. A neighbor named Daphne gave the recipe and starter to me in the '90s, in Texas. The end result was sweet and cake-like, and I thought the name of it began with an A and was from an inn.
Any help is much appreciated, as this is going into a cookbook of rare and unique recipes.
