Sweet Tea Cafe - White Tea and Banh Mi

Dave M.P. | Nov 30, 2004 08:58 PM

After posting and reading the posts last week, I went to Sweet Tea Cafe on Sunday night. I tried the melon white tea (the only white tea on the menu), it cost almost 5 dollars. Very light but flavorful, I felt very refreshed after drinking it. I don't think I am a huge fan of white tea though, at least not a huge enough fan to pay 5 bucks for a cup of it.

I also had the lemongrass chicken banh mi, the bread there is not very crusty at all, it is soft (like a grinder roll from Star Market, but a bit better). Veggies and toppings were fresh and tasty, it was an enjoyable sandwich at $3.50. It was not spicy since it had absolutely no peppers on it, but then again I didn't ask for any.

Very friendly service as usual, nice to drink a big cup of tea on a rainy night. Sweet Tea Cafe is on Mass Av. near Porter Sq, on the right as you head toward Harvard Sq.
