My mom used to season ground beef, roll into balls and fry til browned with raw middles. They would sit overnight in the fridge and an hour or so before dinner she would finish them in a pot of S&S sauce. I am not certain on the ratios but I know the two items she combined was roughly 1 large bottle of Welches Grape Jelly and I regular sized bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce. That was it. She would cook the balls in the mixture and we all loved them everytime they were made. There was no taste of ketchup or grape. They just tasted great.
I am wondering if anyone knows the perfect ratio or perhaps a similar but even better S&S sauce. Must be similar in taste though.
