Hit the Ginza in Brookline last night, after an absence of about 4 years(!)...I gottah say, I was pleasantly surprised....Lovely chutoro, so fatty we had two servings of sashimi, nice job on a salmon skin handroll, always one of my favorites.
The hamachi kama was grilled to a smokiness I haven't found in other places, and the meat just fell off it.
A must-eat for right now was the amaebi (sweet fresh Maine shrimp!), altho I'm sure every sushi bar in town has them right now....So sweet and juicy, why would ya cook'em?
BTW, I was down there after the opening a fabulous show at the Art Institute, of the Golden Age of Illustration...Very small show, but an excellent selection of work from the Boston Public Library's (surprise!) illustration collection...Free.
