Sweet Red Chinese Vinegar?

I have had this sweet red chinese vinegar many times in restaurants and can't seem to find it in stores. It is usually served with chopped ginger along side seafood dumpling soup as a condiment or sometimes as a dipping sauce with seafood dim sum. It has also been used in 100 Dumplings restaurant's preserved pear dumplings. Does anyone know the name for it and where to get in in the NYC area.
