Sweet Freedom Bakery: it's good!

Hey Folks

I've been meaning to check out Sweet Freedom Bakery on South st and 14th since it opened in January but finally manged today. The whole concept is desserts which are vegan to the max: no gluten, no soy, no eggs, no dairy but also no unhealthy stuff like refined sugar.

I'm not vegan, I eat everything on the above list, but my first impressions are... it's good! The brownies are good, the cupcakes are great (think Betty's Buttons style) and the cookies are excellent, crispy on the edges but gooey and soft everywhere else, I'd rank them right up there with Hope's Cookies (the best cookies in Philly) and way better than Famous 4th.

There's limited seating but apparently there'll be sidewalk seating in the summer. If you're vegan/have allergies you should definitely go, and even if you're not it's still a very good bakery. I'm guessing it's a little healthier too, the food definitely felt less heavy than normal baked desserts.
