Swad-- Good Indian in Tappan

Shawn | May 4, 201511:11 AM     1

I work in the area, and have found the lunch options around totally uninspiring. Swad is an unassuming little place that has recently opened in an unassuming little strip of stores. But the food is surprisingly good. They serve the standards as well as a few things that you don't normally see on the menu at Indian restaurants, but what stands out about the place to me is that it has the feel of home cooking about it. They will adjust spice to taste, but when you ask for spicy it is actually spicy. And the mild dishes are flavorful.

I have been there for lunch around half a dozen times now, and I have enjoyed everything I have eaten. Their $9 lunch specials are a bargain, too. It has been quiet when I have been there, but I hope people discover Swad, as it is really a great little addition to the area.
