The current issue of the Economist has a cover story on fish farming.
It is a rather eye opening survey of the state of fish production in general. Among the interesting morsels of info:
- One answer to that question I hear alot: What is Tilapia? The article also answers: What does a Tilapia do?
- the socio-economics of eating fish (the rich get fish-er)
- Q.:What do fish eat?(A: other fish)
I am also in the middle of read "Cod" by Mark Kurlansky which also provides a history of our bizarre realtionship with fish.
(all this Puts Beefsteak Charlies' 'SHRIMPSHRIMPSHRIMP' ads in a different context, not to mention the recent hound posting regarding sushi freshness, etc. )
