Okay, I had to kind of repost this on its own since I couldn't find it ANYWHERE on this board. Small little place, but always packed with the few real foodies up in Syracuse
Kyoko's in Fayetteville.
The sushi and cooking there would not be embarrassed in a major city, or even in manhattan. Just make sure the head chef is there -- he's incredible, and does special invite-only tasting menus about once a month (I forget his name... haven't been up there in a little while, but he's wonderfully entertaining and personable, and has some remarkable training in his background). They fly their fish in fresh each day, and can be remarkably creative. Two people can eat a meal for under 70 dollars there that would probably cost about 150 in manhattan -- and the quality is easily on par. Check it out if you're in the area!
