This is one of the ghosts of dinners past (dateline January 13, 2003) that I never got around to posting. I checked with my friend who is a regular there, and he says it’s as good as ever. So here goes.

After a break of more than a year, my sushi benefactor invited me to join him at one of his sushi haunts and resume my education. In January, we met at Sushi Kuni in Cupertino. It’s housed in a small, cute stand alone building (shown below) that’s separate and apart from the more common strip mall restaurant stock and trade.

Vince brought me here to try an example of a neighborhood sushi bar that takes a traditional approach. While not a destination, with its reasonable prices, this is the kind of place that you can frequent often for reliably good sushi and a quiet atmosphere.
