Sushi Iki in Tarzana is always wonderful! The fish is amazingly fresh, and Chef/Owner Eddie always has many different items to offer to keep us coming back. We are never bored, no matter how many times we dine there because his case changes daily and he flows with the seasons and the weather all over the world.
We were warmly welcomed today for lunch. Chef Eddie is passionate about his work and really likes his customers. We enjoyed several new items, one of which was his "non-sweet eel." We thought, how can eel be good without the sauce? We were SO wrong! This was beyond delicious. He is always right, so if he offers something, it is wise to accept -- even if you are skeptical -- because he will introduce you to really fine sushi that you have not met before.
We also enjoyed some of his wild berry sorbet for dessert. In addition to making the sorbet himself, he had also made a plum wine sticky syrup and poured that over the sorbet...WOW!
I highly recommend Sushi Iki, as I have many times before. It is consistently great!
