Sushi Gen was a great value

I know we've been over this before, but Sushi Gen rocks. (Honda Plaza, Little Tokyo). Tuesday nights it's not very crowded, got a place at the bar right away. Sorry I don't know all the Japanese names, but we had tuna and yellowtail sushi, then monkfish liver sushi, an albacore handroll chopped with scallion, an albacore handroll with plain slices, salmon eggs with quail egg sushi, and sweet shrimp accompanied by fried heads. I think that was it but we were stuffed and everything was incredibly fresh. With one large carafe of sake and one small, the total was $66 for two people. My friend thought for sure it would be $100. Some Japanese businessmen came in at the end and the chefs created beautifully presented sashimi platters for them with some green seaweed or spinach on the side -- that's what I want next time! They were very friendly and accomodating despite a slight language barrier.
Afterwards, tried to check out the new Chinatown bar Mountain, but it's only open Wednesday-Sunday.
