i am doing a month trip to southeast asia and japan...im a sushi fanatic here in NY and know the culture/customs pretty well and have been to all "the best" spots around here.
i want to get the best possible sushi experience in tokyo but have a few concerns...
i am young (23) and do not want to be treated poorly for my age or not knowing the language....i do not want to spend 300 on a dinner where i will not be getting the finest fishes that the others around me will get...do i have to be concerned of the treatment i will get?
also, regarding dress code....my friend and i are backpacking for most of the trip and will not have formal attire....could i go to one of these top places in pants, a tshirt, and sneakers?
jiro and Sushi Mizutani both got 3 stars in Michelin so i would like to try one of those...ive heard a lot about Kyubei but i heard it is a 5 story building in Ginza and something of that size makes me question how amazing the fish could really be....
any advice would be appreciated
